Benefits
- The built-in EuroDOCSIS 2.0 cable modem that is also backward compatible with EuroDOCSIS 1.1/1.0 standards . It offers higher data transfer rates up to 42 Mbps downstream.
- The access control is variable length packet based EuroDOCSIS MAC protocol with contention and reservation slots. The QoS (Quality of Service) will guarantee the bandwidth allocation and latency with dynamic service establishment.
- Baseline Privacy (BPI) provides cable modem users with data privacy across the RF network. It provides user data privacy by encrypting traffic flows between CM and CMTS. To provide strong protection against theft of service, the CMTS would need to authenticate client CMs: the CMTS would need to establish a unique, verifiable identity for a cable modem and authenticate key requests claiming to be from that cable modem.
