Robert Y.L. Mao, Chairman and CEO
Mr. Mao is recognized as a global leader in the telecom industry having addressed worldwide markets for over 30 years. He joined 3Com Corporation in 2006 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Mr. Mao completed the sale of 3Com to Hewlett-Packard Company in early 2010. At Nortel Networks, Mr. Mao was CEO of the company’s GreaterChina operations from 1997 to 2006. Bob was also regional president of the Greater China region for Alcatel-Lucent from 1995-1997. Mr. Mao has held various executive positions at Alcatel and ITT in Asia and in the United States.
Mr. Mao is currently a member of the board of directors of Taiwan-listed Yulon-Nissan Motor Company and Nasdaq listed Energy Recovery inc., a leader in providing water desalination equipment. Mr. Mao is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and a Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mike Holland, Sr. Vice President, Business Development.
Mike has nearly 20 years’ experience in telecommunications in sales, operations and supply chain logistics. Before coming on board with Ubee in 2010, Mike was the Vice President of Business Operations for a regional US carrier where he was in charge of supply chain and OEM vendor relations. Prior to this role, Mike spent more than 10 years at AT&T Wireless, where increasing responsibilities culminated in his role at Vice President and General Manager of the Carolinas Region. Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA, both from Auburn University.
Leonard Kao, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Resource Management
Leonard is a 26 year veteran in the electronics business specializing in product development, business development, manufacturing, sales and marketing. His product/application areas of expertise include military industrial, automotive, Power modules, Analog IC, TV, RF PA and MCM packaging. Leonard also facilitated two company¹s IPO¹s: Ambit (which merged into Foxconn) in Taiwan, and MPS ( MPWR) in the US and listed on NASDAQ. He holds executive positions in Ambit, MPS and Telegent.
Leonard graduated from Taipei Institute of Technology, with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Charles Kuai, Chief Strategy Officer & President MBB.
Charles is a seasoned executive in the Telecom, Media, and Technology sectors with nearly 20 years of experience in Americas, Europe & Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining
Ubee in 2008, he was Chief Strategy Officer of CNS, Taiwan’s largest Cable Operator. Charles also held executive and management positions at Nortel, TenFold, and AT&T. Charles holds an EMBA from Northwestern University.
Frank Liu, Chief Financial Officer.
Frank has been in the Finance & Accounting & Business Planning field for over 20 years with an MBA degree from the University of Missouri. Before joining Ubee in 2007, Frank held senior management positions in finance and general administration of well-known ODM & EMS companies which manufacture integrated consumer electronic products in Taiwan and Mainland China.
Eric Martinez, Vice President, Europe.
Eric is a senior executive in the networking and relocation services industry. He was the Vice President of European Operations at D-Link prior to joining Ubee. Before D-link, Eric held operations manager roles at Interdean/Inerconnex and Sterling Relocation. He holds a BA Honors degree from Monash University (Australia) and speaks fluent French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
Maria Popo, President, Americas.
Maria joined Ubee in 2002 and has been leading its American operations since 2006. Prior to that, Maria held product management, marketing, and executive sales roles at 3Com Corporation, 3M Telecom and Dorran Photonics supporting the Service Provider markets for both consumer and commercial product lines. Maria is a trained Software Engineer of Colorado Technical University.
Daniel T. Smires, Senior Vice President of Emerging Technologies.
Daniel has over 20 years of telecom service provider, systems and semiconductor technology experience. He is a senior level executive experienced in startups, and acquisitions primarily with companies in a rapid growth mode, most notably Vonage and Conexant Systems. Daniel holds Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Electrical Engineering degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Robert Tsai, VP, Asia Pacific.
Robert has been running the Ubee cable business operations for the last seven years. Prior to that, Robert made significant contributions in the PC, notebook and set top box business for Acer, Wistron and Foxconn. Robert has an MBA degree from Syracuse University.
Jackie Yang, VP, Operations.
Jackie has been serving Foxconn and Ubee for 16 years, and successfully led the business development of GSM/CDMA RF amplifier and LCD power inverter product lines. Jackie has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Fu Jen Catholic University.
