How do I add DMZ Host?

Putting a host in the DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) outside the Firewall is a quick and easy way to enable remote access and functionality of devices such as Home Routers, Web Cameras, IP Phones and VoIP Telephone Adapters, Gaming Consoles, and other such devices without having to set up more complicated Port Forwarding or Port Triggering configurations. It is very easy to set up a DMZ Host, but you can only have one DMZ Host configured.

  1. Login into the device as described in the “How do I log into the modem’s Web User Interface?” FAQ.
  2. Click Gateway from the main menu.
  3. Click TOOLS from the top menu, and select Client List from the left side menu.  Note the MAC address and IP address assigned to the device you want to put in the DMZ.
  4. Click GATEWAY from the top menu, and select Static Lease from the left side menu. Enter the device's WAN MAC address and assign a Static IP lease to it.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click GATEWAY from the top menu, and select DMZ from the left side menu.  Enter the Static Lease IP address that you just assigned to the device.
  7. Click Apply.
