What do the LEDs on the front of the device indicate?

The front panel LEDs are described for the U10C022 in the following table.

LED

Description

Power

The LED is on green if the cable modem successfully completes internal power-on tests.  It flashes if it is in battery mode.

DS

(Downstream)

The LED indicates Downstream scanning has started when flashing. Once solid, it has found the correct Downstream level.

US

(Upstream)

The LED indicates Upstream scanning has started when flashing. Once solid, it has found the correct Upstream level.

On-Line

The LED is on green once the cable modem completes registration and is ready to send/receive data. The LED flashes for a few seconds during registration, and for 2 to 3 minutes if a software upgrade is in progress.

USB

Indicates connectivity between the USB and computer

TEL 1 & TEL 2

The LED indicates VOIP registration has started when flashing. Once solid, the VOIP registration is complete. If flashing after registration, the phone if off hook.

Batt 1 & Batt 2

The LED is on if the battery is installed.  The LED is off if there is no battery installed.  The LED flashes if the battery is low.

WLAN

The LED indicates a wireless client has connected to the modem. It will flash when traffic is passed.

Ethernet 1-4

The LED indicates connectivity between the Ethernet ports on the cable modem and the PC. The LED is green if the PC is connected at 100Mbps speed. It will be amber if connected at 10Mbps.
